Can Tho - Floating market

We travelled by taxi from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho, the journey took 3 hours and was very scenic, we assed many beautiful and asked the driver to stop so we could get a better view. It was a very nice trip actually and the roads were better than we expected. We arrived in Can Tho and stayed a little out of town in a newly created home-stay near the river, this was an excellent choice, the host was fantastic and the river was extremely scenic. At the home-stay we rented a bicycle and drove around to see many factories, schools and local villages, a trip that showed me how simple life can be managed and for how few means a family can be sustained. Phu Quoc island

After a 45 minutes flight south from Ho Chi Minh City we arrived at the sunny island of Phu Quoc. From the air port we went to the southern beach where I had booked a bungalow at a beach resort. We got a bungalow just 50 meters from the beach with a fantastic view and a garden full of palm trees, so we immediately liked Phu Quoc. During the next days we visited the northern beach, that was even more fantastic than the south, the sand was extremely fine and white and the sea was more calm almost giving it a lagoon feel to the beach. Mui Ne

Muine is a small village around 3 hours north from Ho Chi Ming City if going by car, we went there by car and that was a good choice as there are so many scenic points along the route. We checked in to the hotel which was located near the beach and got a fantastic view over all the beach. The sand there is good and the water is not rough, but there is wind enough to do kite surfing. Which is available everywhere and seem like the main activity there Read more

Nha Trang

Nha Trang is a coastal town located between Danang and Ho Chi Minh City, it is about 300km from HCM so going by plane or train is the best. If you go by tain you will pass Muine on the way, which is absolutely worth a visit as well. We have visited Nha Trang a few times and fine it a very nice place, it is a very active town with a lot of tourism and tremendous beaches and recreational possibilities. Nha Trang has plenty of dive shops, restaurants, hotels and very good transport systems, so an ideal place to be for relaxation and a favorite place for foreigners to visit. In Nha Trang we visited the Mud bath, Vin Pearl Island and the Night market. The Mud bath was excellent, we eally enjoyed the relaxing hot mud and the refreshing mineral water and even the visit took 3 hours, we did not feel this was too long. Hoi An

We arrived at Danang airport in autumn and took a mailinh taxi to Hoi An, which is about 30 minutes by car. Hoi An is a fantastic city that has maintained its original buildings and simply upgrades the inside of the buildings. So it is very much similar to visiting a heritage where everything seems untouched for hundreds of years. Naturally this is a magnet for tourists and the environment is set up for tourists with many small cafes and good restaurants scattered all over town. Hue

I arrived in Danang in spring and took a car to travel to Hue, this is about 1 to 1.5 hour north and is a very scenic route. So I would recommend all to go by car to Hue as you can stop at the many photo opportunities that arise along the way. I personally stopped 7 times on the way. I had booked a hotel with River view in Hue about 1.5 km from the famous Imperial Citadel. The area I stayed in had plenty of good restaurants and a vibrant life both day and night. At night I went to the bridge crossing the river, it was lit up and there was a big night market in that area, a very nice and cool evening. Read more
